Don't know where all the negative reviews are coming from, I can only share my experience. Fast service, seated right away. Our waitress Rachael was checking on us every several minutes, without being annoying. Food arrived in about 20 minutes (hot dog, pork chops, fish, salads). Inside does need some rennovation and some fresh air or more powerful vents/ac, so we decided to move out on the patio. Every single item of the food that we ordered was great. Oh, and the pricing is very affordable. Great view, great fresh air outside. I'm very pleased with the place.
This place is good, down home cookin'. The staff was very pleasant, the prices were reasonable, and the food was delicious. We quite enjoyed ourselves!
We needed a home cooked meal otw home from Tennessee, & was not disappointed! scrumptious eats, cozy atmosphere and fair prices. (Country fried steak, fried squash and green beans for dinner, came with a dessert and i chose the peach cobbler). We dined inside, but there is a beautifully built deck if you want to eat outside.
They do not serve lunch until 12. However they accommodated my party at 11 o'clock for one of the best lunches I've ever had. Chopped beef steak smothered in gravy with baked sweet potato and pinto beans. With roll and butter and choice of dessert for 9 bucks you can't go wrong! We live in the area and will definitely return to this hidden treasure
We Love this restaurant- especially their White Fish. They have THE BEST Fish!!! That's what we had for lunch today. GREAT staff and friendly service.
For only $8.99 I received a drink with unlimited refills, a fairly large filet, hush puppies, and 2 sides. Definitely enough food to fill you up, however you also get a choice of a homemade dessert for no extra fee! The food was fantastic, the customer service is phenomenal, and the price is amazing! I can understand this place having long wait times on busy days, but we were lucky to come on a slow day.
Just stopped for a ‘quick bite’ of lunch. One burger and one Ruben sandwich. Took one hour for the food to come! Manager hardly wanted to apologize, so I presume this is their usual service. I see similar experiences in the reviews. Three parties of People who came to the restaurant got tired of waiting to be seated so they just left. Lucky to get one star.
My wife and I order tske-out on the Friday fish dinner quite often. It is absolutely delicious. They give you generous portions and there are several sides to choose from. We have not tried any other items yet.
Good food fair prices. Dog friendly on the deck. We love their breakfast.
We have always ate at Joey's when staying at Maggie Valley. Now that Joey's has closed we are thrilled. To find this treasure of restaurant. It is Christmas Eve and everything was perfect. The staff is great even after a small mix up with cheese and the food was very good. We were well please and can not wait to go back.
We stopped in on a whim had an all around awesome experience here! Party of 5 with a baby. Service was excellent and very accommodating, I think Kathy was our server. She made great suggestions. One of her suggestions was the white fish, grilled, which was great. We had country fried chicken and pulled pork which was also great! Other than the macaroni, which was a little dry, the sides were amazing!. We really liked the hash brown casserole and the fried okra. The rolls were so good and you could smell them being cooked throughout the restaurant! We truly enjoyed ourselves here!
Great spot for breakfast (served 'til 11:30). The pancakes are easily as good, if not better than Joey's Pancake House. But here you don't get the crowds and long wait times. Highly recommend checking this out.
This place is awesome. Food is perfect. We've eaten there breakfast, lunch, and dinner times. All food was perfect and more than enough to even take home. Waitresses are friendly and helpful. Have to watch for it or you will pass right by w/o seeing it. Well worth the effort of hunting it down. If you like rustic you will love this place. Only negative was that it was colder than I liked but the times we've been, it's been like 12 degrees outside so that was probably why..
The food was delicious, service was friendly and attentive. The prices were very reasonable!
Great home cooking, real mashed potatoes country fried steak so tender, everything was terrific and at a great price. Oh the dinners also come with a dessert, as Tennessee Ernie Ford used to say " It's Pea Pickin Good ". 👍
The food was really good and the prices were good. The side they sat us in was a bit strange, but it had nice windows so we could look out at Maggie Valley. It was a neat little place for a family meal
Pretty good service, French toast always good. Wish someone in town could combine good food and good coffee
Local family restaurant with excellent priced breakfast. Loved the lime colored curtains, checkered table covering to match the curtains made me think of a place in Astabula OH. Kind staff, clean bathroom and plenty parking. Highly recommend!
I can speak for the pork chops (good) and the chicken tenders(great). Wife and I had a pleasant dinner last night. Side salad can was fresh and crispy, and the hash brown casserol was rated very good. Wife's Mac&cheese was some of the best we've experienced. Just good home cooking, pleasant atmosphere/staff, and reasonable expense!
Service is great! Very friendly staff. We had the fish. It was excellent! Great food for a great price.
If you're considering eating here, stop and go somewhere else. If I could give zero stars I would. Previously, this was a good place to eat and the food was great but things have changed. First, the building was cold. I wore a large coat the entire time. Even the waitresses were cold and wearing coats. Secondly, the food was not good at all. The fish was under cooked, hush-puppies looked good but tasted horrible, and the french fries tasted like warmed up leftovers from the day before. I will not be eating here again.
Food was served hot. Mac and cheese was delicious. Service felt a little rushed. Peach cobbler and strawberry shortcake were great.
Waitress was great! Food quality is very poor.
Service was great food not so much. Had pork bbq and it was discusting. It tasted like it was days old. Had peach cobbler dessert that was amazing thou
O had chicken fried steak and hubby had hamburger steak. Our food was actually very good. Place is clean and quiet and not very busy for a afternoon.
Went for breakfast; would NOT recommend. Very short staffed and although there were multiple families waiting to be seated at the door- the two servers did NOT acknowledge anyone and we all stood waiting a very long time while over half the tables were empty. There was one cook. Took forever for food and did not even get a refill for coffee while waiting. The farmhouse omelete and buscuit were very small and it was a limited menu. Go down further and wait at Joey's pancake House or Waffle House or just eat at home. Will not return.
Delicious food at reasonable prices! Friendly staff! Pleasant atmosphere definitely recommend!
This restaurant met the record in three categories for me: how long it took before anyone took a drink order (25 minutes after seating), food order (40 minutes), and food arrival (one hour). They weren't terribly busy or understaffed, they were just very poorly organized and there was no management. The food was pretty good and the prices are fair if you disregard the service issues. There were numerous points where I thought it would be smartest to just leave but I was actually curious about whether we would ever get served. I don't really think that the time from order to food delivery was excessive. It just mounted up with how long it took the kitchen to get the starting signal. I'm just passing through so this may not be at all how it usually is but this is my impression. I won't be back to this restaurant.
Got a little sceptical when we walked in & seen only one table taken up, but the waitress was really friendly & the food was delicious. I would def recommend this place for breakfast. Haven't tried lunch yet!
Good, casual, country food. I got the Alaskan white fish with mac & cheese and fried. It was very tasty and too much food for me to finish.
Just had a late breakfast, food and service very good. This was our first visit. We'll definitely go back. Staff very friendly
Great variety, sweet staff, and decent prices. No complaints
We had breakfast here yesterday morning on our anniversary trip. I noticed some of the reviews commenting on slow service, but that wasn’t the case for us yesterday. The girls who took care of us yesterday were friendly and our food was great, large portions and very filling! Definitely recommend and will surely be back!
First time going to this place. Food is good but the service needs improvement. They need a hostess to seat people and clean up tables and let the waitresses do their job. Didn’t get offered the dessert that comes with the meal but didn’t want to ask for it because we had been waiting for our check for so long.
Service was good. Food was excellent. Veggies were cooked to perfection. I am six feet, 270 lbs and I found portions very adequate.
Food is good. Waitress's are somewhat nice. They need a new structure. Took awhile to be steated, took a while to even order drinks and took forever it felt to get our food. They weren't even that busy. If they could pick up the pace I wouldnt mind giving a 5 star.
We make a point of eating here each time we visit the area. The setting is relaxed and friendly. Food and service is always consistant. The prices are more than reasonable. Will be back!
This restaurant was GREAT. It was very affordable and you got a lot of food for your money. I would definitely recommend this!
This was the best fish we have ever ate out and we have ate at many seafood restaurants and other establishments that serve fish. The portions were larger than we expected could not even eat everything, hated to have to leave such great food. The staff and cook are so pleasant and this will be a regular place for us to eat at when we are in the area traveling.
Good service and atmosphere. The prices can't be beat.
Nice restaurant with easy access from the main road. Seating was prompt with a friendly server. Breakfast service was a little slow for only three or four tables being served. Food portions were small and quality was fair. The price was reasonable. Probably would not return for breakfast again.
The nastiest chicken I have ever had,the chicken leg was black in side and the breast was so dry, and had a odd flavor, came home a throw up.Don't eat the chicken please.
Dis place gotta da bestest meat squares ever. Oh wait I fourgettaboutit they no gotta meat squares only meata balls sometimes. But they still pretty good though. The turkey dinner is just right.
Alaskan fish was excellent. Good fried okra and a solid breakfast. Shannon was an excellent waitress.
Breakfast there this morning was great! Omelet and hashbrown casserole was awesome! More than enough to eat. Service was excellent! Highly recommend!
They were very short staffed the day we were there. The staff did an excellent job of making sure our visit was pleasant. Food was really good!! Only negative was the air conditioning was not very effective.
It was great. Large menu, lots of choices! Great food. Good service! What’s not to like!!!
Down home atmosphere and surprisingly delicious food! Breakfast is served until 11:30 am. We didn't get to try it but lunch was quite good!
Stopped in on a Sunday morning, they were short staffed and fairly busy. Oddly the greeter told us that she worked at WalMart but was just helping out because they were shorthanded. It's probably a challenge to find help in such a tourist destination so being shorthanded is understandable.Food was good, service was above average. I recommend Dellwood Farmhouse, great ambiance.
